“a recipe is a story that ends with a yummy meal”

over the last many months of having moved out of my parent’s home and into a home of my own, i’ve learnt quite a bit about food, about cooking and what both of them mean to me.

the food I make for myself is very much dependent on my mood, rather it’s an apt portrayal of my mood, much like 10 yo Pin’s mum’s from the book Sugarbread by @ballijaswal 💯

in the last six months i have discovered so much about myself, like:
• i LOVE plating up my food, the aesthetics of a meal well plated is a major boost to my serotonin level
• my dad and i have discovered that cooking his recipes together on video call is our love language
• days when i’m sad, trying to make something new makes me feel a sense of accomplishment
• food is the most primitive form of comfort
• most importantly feeding yourself (and your closest ones) with love is like giving a piece of your heart

my relationship with food and cooking has changed and i LOVE it! 😄

What a year! 2022 just has to be one of the most c

What a year! 2022 just has to be one of the most challenging and fulfilling year by far.

So much was achieved and lost and experienced and felt. This is the year which I’ll remember as changing jobs, getting my friend married, planning a trip successfully, having an experience of a lifetime, fighting hard for what I believe in, meeting a TON of new people, partying, working, failing, crying, adulting, moving to a new city, creating a home of my own, attending my first ever stand-up and concert, making many many furry friends,laughing out loud, being my most authentic self, learning to cope with living alone and while reading might have taken a back seat for a while, experiencing life in all its different shades has been the highlight of my year.

Thank you to everyone who has stuck by me through this year, it’s been a crazy ride and I can’t wait to experience more of it with you all by my side.

Idk how 2023 is going to be, if I were to assume, it’s gonna be a tough one but I got this. You got this! No matter what comes our way, we’ll make it through. And THAT I believe in.

So, yes. Thank 2022 for the memories, I’ll look back to this year with fondness. ♥️

hi bookstagram! i am super excited to announce this project i’ve wanted to do with y’all for a while now. this idea has been brewing in my chaotic brain for the last six months at the least and what’s better than a new year to start a new project?

on an everyday basis we hear so much about what “feminism” is, the word has almost become a taboo of sorts. the intention of the project is to read, understand and discuss more on feminism, what it means to be a feminist and what it definitely doesn’t mean to be a feminist!

so starting january a whole bunch of us will be reading titles which revolve around feminist themes. the books will vary across multiple genres and we already have a telegram group in place for our conversations as we read one book a month.

you can DM in case you choose to join us, we’re still voting our first BoTM.

i hope you choose to join me in this project and i can’t wait to have a lot of intriguing conversations with you all through the process.

//turning another year finer™//

yes, aging like fine wine if you ask me. 😋

27 came with a calmness i wasn’t anticipating, it came with a sense of independence and it came with a feeling of all that truly matters.

i matter. friends who turned into family matter. slowing down matters. stepping up matters. believing matters. making time matters. growth matters.

i couldn’t have asked for a better birthday, woke up with a smile on my face, ate cake for breakfast and can’t believe i have so many beautiful, kind-hearted people in my life who care for me the way they do and as much as they do.

as we get older you start to appreciate the people who go the extra mile WAY more i suppose because i too understand how hard it is to go the extra mile, esp on a monday.

i appreciate every call, every visit, every message I received yesterday and even today as they continue to pour in ♥️

here’s to being better, to smiling wider, laughing louder, loving endlessly and reading a lot more intentionally 🧿

I finally took a Sunday to myself.

Moving cities, moving out of home, moving in general is not necessarily easy. But creating a new home, falling in love with a place slowly and gradually is an experience for you to find you.

I’ve found a place in this big city and now I’m creating a home as I rediscover myself. ♥️
